There’s a new petition to grant early voting access in DeKalb County for the June 20 6th District runoff.
The petition needs signatures from DeKalb County residents. The request is to open the Chamblee and Tucker locations for early voting on May 30 with weekday and Saturday hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is in order to fix he problem of voter access, which significantly depressed voter turnout in DeKalb during the April 18 election.
The Dekalb Board of Registration and Elections meets on May 11 to present the petition and vote on Dekalb’s early voting plan. We want to provide them with signatures from at least 1,000 Dekalb residents for a strong piece of the public input. While you don’t have to be a resident of the 6th District to sign the petition, you do need to be a resident of DeKalb County concerned about the voting process.
So sign the petition, share it with your DeKalb neighbors and let’s all make sure we fix the DeKalb voting access problem.
Stick with us, we still need you. When we’re done, DeKalb voters are going to be so enfranchised they won’t know what hit them!
